Camp Policies

Leadership

All groups using the camp must meet the requirements of their organization for adult leadership. We strongly support and suggest that two (2) leaders be present in the camp at all times. Youth should never be allowed in camp unsupervised. You are responsible for the people in your groups and for their actions. Your group may be billed for damages/repairs and lose any future privileges to rent the camp.

If your youth organization requires a trip request, authorization form, and/or insurance, so do we.

Vehicles

All vehicles are to remain on the road or parked in front of the cabin. ATV’s, dirt bikes and snowmobiles may be used as long as you follow state/county guidelines and laws. They will be used at your own risk. The Frontiersmen assume no liability for injuries incurred while using these personal items.

Fires

Fires are to be built in designated fire-rings or grills. It is the group leaders’ responsibility to check with the DNR ranger before starting any fires in the camp. DO NOT BURN / CAMPFIRES without the DNR’s permission!

Chemical Fuels

Only adults should use liquid fuels and propane. Liquid fuel is not recommended. Chemical fuels and open flames are PROHIBITED inside any tents. Chemical fuels may not be used to start any fires without adult supervision.

Camp Property

Please conserve our natural resources. No cutting of brush or standing timber, no digging or trenching is allowed without prior approval of the Camp Director. Use camp sanitary facilities properly. DO NOT dispose of garbage, wash water, cans, bottles, sanitary products, etc. in these facilities. Take your garbage with you.

Firearms

Discharge of firearms and bows (archery) is not permitted on the immediate camp property around buildings. Should you bring up this type of equipment, you may use in on public land; per all federal, state and county requirements. All Firearms and Archery are at your own risk. The Frontiersmen assume no liability for injuries incurred by these activities.

Beach/Swimming/Water Activities

You are welcome and encouraged to use the waterfront facilities at camp. You must always have a “swim buddy” present when swimming and you must follow the swimming rules for your organization. Youth groups must have at least one designated person as lifeguard (in accordance with your organization’s rules) for your protection as well as ours. All persons are required to follow Minnesota State Boating regulations; especially regarding Personal Floatation Devices (PFD). Youth PFD’s are available, but they are “one size” fits all. Adults should bring their own proper PFD.

Alcohol & Unlawful Drugs

Unlawful drugs are never allowed in camp. Alcohol is also not allowed in camp when a youth group is present.

Pets

Pets are welcome. Remember you are in the wild and your pet may encounter other creatures that will harm your pet; such as a bear, wolf, porcupine, skunk, etc. Please keep pets off the bunks. IT IS REQUIRED THAT OWNERS CLEAN UP THE GROUNDS AFTER THEIR PETS!

Smoking

The buildings are off limits to smoking. Please respect this rule. Pick up and dispose of your butts.
