Check-in is 1pm. Please contact our Camp Director, Glen (218-234-2025) by phone or email (director@bootlakecamp.com) upon your arrival at Boot Lake Camp to confirm that you are there. The keys to the facility are kept in a lock box on-site. A code to the lock box will be provided to you prior to your arrival (KEEP THE CODE CONFIDENTIAL). Since there is no staff at the camp, it is much appreciated if groups/individuals using the camp would help with maintenance by mowing (lawnmowers in the utility shed), trimming, etc. or let the Camp Director know of a maintenance issue.
Check out is by noon (12 pm) unless otherwise arranged and noted by the Camp Director.
Return the keys to the lockbox and ensure that it is locked. This is very important!
If you want to find it clean….help by leaving it clean!
Check the entire area for litter, clothing, camping gear, tools, etc.
Clean the cabin, kitchen and dining area, (ensure toilet paper is left for the next group in the outhouses).
Wash all dishes and utensils.
If you used the sink in the cabin, then make sure you empty the water pail under the sink in the cabin!
Make sure all outdoor fires/grills are completely out!!!
Garbage MUST be taken out of the camp with you.
Check Smoke / CO Detector: Hit Test Button. PLEASE report if batteries need to be replaced (2 AA’s).
Leave circuit breakers in the cabin on so furnace and refrigerator can run (in winter).
Turn off lights at the door (in winter).
Turn off the propane gas for the grill/stove at valves (right behind the stove) in the winter & summer.
Leave gas on the furnace (in winter).
Winter Heating: Touch and hold the “HOLD” button down and then go to the temperature to where you want it.
Return thermostat to Program before leaving by hitting the “RUN” button (winter temperature settings are programmed in).
Block open all refrigerators and freezers not in use in cook shack (Cabin refrigerator can stay running in the winter).
Ensure all boats, oars, canoes, paddles and life jackets are in good repair and stored back in the boathouse.
Ensure all buildings are closed and locked before leaving camp.
PROMPTLY return keys to the lock box. They are needed for the next group going to camp.
