The Fire Station is in Jacobson, MN. First responders may come from there if notified.

The Camp Location Address is: Boot Lake Youth Camp, 58168 Loon Avenue, Jacobson, MN 55752.

The county may also know it as on County Road 36 and 14 as this is how it is often indicated on maps.

There is no Land Line Phone Service at the camp and cell phone coverage may be spotty.

You/Your Group is responsible for your own Personal First Aid Kit

  1. Your group should have a First Aid and equipment plan in place. Each group is responsible to know of any medical conditions that exist amongst any members in your camp (e.g. bee sting, food allergies, and/or other conditions) prescribed by a doctor.

  2. Some basic first aid supplies can be found in the medicine cabinet inside the cabin.

The Camp now has a back-up generator and the hook-up directions are with the unit.


Propane:

Propane gas is provided for cooking and furnace heat. Please check stoves and valves for proper on/off setting. Emergency Contact for gas – Federated Co-Op and their main number is 1-800-671-9759 or 1-800-638-8228.


Weather Information:

  • Your group is responsible to stay informed of any changing or pending weather conditions.

  • Weather generally moves West to East. Therefore, often best to find radio stations from Grand Rapids, Bemidji or Brainerd.

  • Best shelter is the cinder block house known as the “Cook Shack”.

  • A weather radio is available, which can be found in the Medical Chest.

  • Walkie-talkies are available for communications from cabin to tent area (adult use only). They also can be found in the Medical Chest. These are not toys! They are specifically for safety purposes.

  • Please make sure the weather radio and the walkie-talkies are fully charged before returning them to the Medical Chest!
